ABOUT CACAO & OUR CHOCOLATE BARS

We use Un-Roasted Peruvian Cacao Beans to make our chocolate bars. What is Un-Roasted Chocolate? After the Cacao bean has been harvested and fermented, instead of then being roasted at high temperatures, it is then sun dried at a maximum temperature of 46 degrees. It is said that Un-Roasted beans keeps more of its nutrients, anti-oxidants, minerals and enzymes intact. When we create the bars be assured that we keep the temperature to approx 42 degrees so we pass all that goodness on to you. We’re all about spreading wellness and Love in the form of good wholesome chocolate and for you not to feel guilty when you devouring it.

Cacao is known to be a natural aphrodisiac, this will come from the Anandamide present in Cacao. Anandamide is a neurotransmitter produced in the brain. It's been called the “bliss molecule,” aptly named after ananda, the Sanskrit word for “joy, bliss, or happiness.”

Though chocolate is known for its ability to increase levels of the calming neurotransmitter serotonin, it also contains small amounts of a compound called phenylethylamine, which acts like an amphetamine, stimulating your brain cells to release dopamine. Which is why when we eat a bar of chocolate made from pure cacao beans we get a proper happy feeling going on :)

Cacao Temple now have a product that is produced to the highest possible standard, which can be consumed and enjoyed totally guilt free by all chocolate lovers including those with a plant based diet, with intolerances to dairy and gluten and due to the low GI of coconut nectar and maple syrup may also be enjoyed by diabetics as part of a balanced diet.

What goes into our Chocolate Bars?

We have been super stringent on what goes into our chocolate bars and processed sugars are avoided at all costs! We believe that we have achieved the perfect balance of flavours using the highest quality of Pure Un-Roasted Peruvian Cacao Liquor and Cacao Butter, dōTERRA essential oils are used in some of the flavours and natural low GI sweeteners using coconut nectar and maple crystals.

Each bar is tempered, meaning it has a nice 'snap' to it, but with a lovely creamy texture that slowly melts in your mouth, it has shelf life of approx 6 months and doesn't have to be kept in the fridge. But I think the most important ingredient is the Passion and Love that is poured into each and every bar that is created, all made in a purpose built chocolate studio in Dorset UK, with frankincense burning, fairy lights twinkling and calm meditation music played at a frequency of 432mhz to infuse peace and love into each bite!
